Default Deadly Friend - 1986

I know this is not a great movie (), but I would still like to have it on Blu. I loved the movie as a kid mostly due to the adorable Kristy Swanson and I cried at the end! Its based of the novel "Friend" by Diana Henstell, which by the way is much better than the film.

I have the DVD and it has a good picture but I really want to see young Kristy in High Def! What would be even more amazing is if Warner can include the original Wes Craven version of the film which I haven't seen and from what I read, that version doesn't have the ridiculous ending of the theatrical version. Wishful thinking, I know.

I've wanted to see it for the longest time purely based on the often seen "basketball scene" and Wes Craven's involvement.

I like this movie alot and would love to see it on Blu-ray. The ending was a disappointment though and didn't make much sense but overall it's still a good one! Kristy Swanson

Ah yes, the iconic basketball scene. It is a classic scene and is definitely right up the alley for horror and gore aficionado like me.

The movie could have been made much better if Wes Craven had total freedom, but Warner's executives screwed it all up. The ending wasn't Craven's idea and he was forced to do it by Warner. Oh well, still a nice little movie. Of course, Kristy Swanson made this movie memorable. Man I had a crush on her as a kid...and I still do!

I saw this as a kid. I enjoyed it then and would definitely check it out again if they release it on Blu-ray.

That would be cool. They should release that whole box set (the one with Eyes of a Stranger, The Hand, From Beyond the Grave, ect) as budget collection on 2 or 3 discs.

I haven't seen this film since the 80's when it was released on VHS. Can someone possibly refresh my memory of the ending (using SPOILERS of course)?

Rick

Dang, I'd love to see this one on BD (Kristy Swanson ). WB has so many horror titles they could release, just think:

Cat's Eye
Critters
Demon Seed
Eyes of a Stranger
Hitcher, The (1986)
Of Unknown Origin
Night School
Pack, The (1977)
Return of the Living Dead Part II
Wolfen

This is just the tip of the iceberg!

I would be EVERY single one of those in a heartbeat. Especially Cat's Eye, Critters and Night School!
