Default NEW Bond Movie shortest one!!

I just read over at Ign and they have just released runtime for "Quantum of Solace" at 106 Min. I think this is an outrage. HOW CAN YOU have a complex story like Bond and flesh it out in 1hr and 40min.
Did anyone else here about this?

Well this starts where the other ended so it might not start out slow. The movie might get right into the story.

There was a little movie called Casablanca that topped out at 102 minutes. I think it turned out okay for a "short" movie covering a reasonably intricate story.

As SS316SRV said, give it a chance. Brevity is the soul of wit.

The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones comes to mind.

Most Bond flicks are over 2 hours yes but many weren;t that good either(esp between 1990 - 2005ish) Give the new one a chance.

Let's not forget that it is also the most expensive Bond film at a staggering 225 million dollars.

When did an hour and 40 minutes because a short movie? If anything, 2 hours or more is too long. Not that I am complaining because Casino Royale was awesome.

I've seen plenty of legendary films from the 60's that absolutely sucked because it was obvious the director was trying to hit that 3 hour mark. A tight 1.5 hour movie is always going to be better than the same move in two hours with a bunch of fluff.

Very true. Less people were going to the theater in th 60's because of the television boom, so they started making "epics" as a way to get people back in theaters and to make them think they were getting more for their money. I'll take a great 1hr 30min movie over an fluffy 3hr epic any day.

There is no fact stating that for a good bond movie it must be over 2 hours. It all just depends on how long it takes to completely tell the story. Heck in some instances elongating a movie for times sake is a very bad idea.

I've liked the new ones most, and I think this looks like it won't be as good as Casino Royale, but will be better than the old ones.
