Keira Knightley Confirms She's Done With Pirates

In case you’ve missed it when we told you about it or all the other times she’s said it, Keira Knightley came out to MTV today and confirmed yet again that she’s not going to have anything to do with any future Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

She tells them, “I think I can’t wear corsets for awhile.” Then she went off and signed up for 6 more corset-wearing period movies. But she sounds like she’s more than happy to let Pirates move on without Elizabeth Swann. She says, “I think it’s on to some different things.”

With Johnny Depp signed and both Bloom and Knightley nowhere in site, our scoop from more than a year ago seems even closer to coming true. It’ll be up to Captain Jack Sparrow to fly the Pirates of the Caribbean flag alone from now on.

I don't think they were planning to have her back anyways. Her character's story is done. They are focusing on Jack now.

Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush made those movies. All they need to do is pick up a couple of actors for the "narrative", and let Johnny do his thing.

When I bought At Worlds End, there was this card insert in it that proposed to answer some questions that theater goers had about the movie upon exiting the theater. Some where snide little jokes like how did the prison key dog get off that island from Dead Mans Chest, the answer was sea turtles.

The two that got my attention were the following:

1) How was Barbosa a pirate lord if he was serving under Jack on the Pearl? They answered "that is a story that is yet to be told". Sounded even then like they were planning another movie with at least Barbosa.

2) Some question about Will and Elizabeth's future. The answer was again "that is a story yet to be told". So it seemed to me that they were preparing another movie to revolve around them. Maybe not now if she doesn't want the part.
