Wall Mounting: opinion - Blu-ray Forum

Before I ask, I want to really thank all of you, for sharing your knowledge and experience with everyone. It's truly been a big help and a great resource.

Now, I have a very limited budget for a set-up and saving up really isn't an option, unless I want to save for 3 years. Kids/Family can do that to a person. Anyway, I was able to spring for an Onkyo 605 and the Yamaha NS-SP1800 speaker set. This is my first venture into this area and as fun as it is, I'm still a novice. I will be wall mounting the 4 satellite speakers but my question is about the L/R front speakers.

What is the general opinion on this: should I mount the L/R speakers on an actual mount/bracket or is flush against the wall (courtesy of 2 screws placed in said wall) preferable?

For those, that is exactly how I'd do it. Don't worry about distance from wall etc.... those speakers will do fine on a wall, or stand....

I like the wall mounts but if you just mount the speaker to the wall and you have some vibrations just use a double sided foam tape.

Is your display also mounted on the wall? If not, you want to place the speakers carefully so they can project sound without the display interfering.

no, my display is on a stand, on an entertainment center. Display is actually less than a foot away from the wall though

i'd say it depends on wire management.

can you mount speakers on the wall without the speaker wires being exposed?
