Default Copy old laser disks

I have a large collection of old laser disk movies. Can I transfer them to dvd with a blue ray recorder. Any recommendations on hardware would be appreciated.

Why not copy them to DVD with a DVD recorder?

Default I know a guy

Holmes!!!

This guy:

is completely sick at it.

I had him transfer an old SI swimsuit laserdisc (I don't have a player) and not only did he do a flawless transfer, he lightscribed the SI logo onto the disc for me.

Wow. I have hundreds of laserdiscs I'd like to get rid of if I could get some of them copied. Thanks, Lucy.

I only had the one done so far, but he said he'd give me a discount on additional transfers.

Contact him first and let him know you have a lot....maybe he'll cut you a deal.

I only have 2 Laserdiscs (and a LD Calibration disc which I'm not including in that count) and I spent lots of time trying to get them converted to DVD.

I tried using a DV camcorder with video in but didn't like the results,... but it's a pretty easy way to get it done with pretty good results.

I borrowed a DVD Recorder from a friend and feed the LD output into that but the sych of the audio and video eventually was off which was not "ok" since I my two LD's are concert films.

Finally,... I used links for VCDHelp to optimize recording on a PC with a TV Tuner Capture Card. I made Mpegs and that was the end of it for a while.

Now that I have a Macbook,... it was simple to turn those Mpegs into a nicely done DVD with menus and stuff.

Anyway.... Thought I would give info on my own efforts. If either of the 2 remaining LD's I have was ever released onto DVD I would donate the LD's and just buy the DVD. (Was supposed to happen for one of the titles last year but never actually happened.)
