Unhappy Sony HT-SF2000

Hello -

So I've had this HT-SF2000 for a few months now and have been trying to deal with it. I honestly can say this has the worst sound. I've been to the sonystyle store here in California and have called the Sony technical support and nobody can seem to help me.

When I purchased this I had my blu-ray player in mind and the incredible sound I would have when I took it home. After a few times watching blu-ray's I notice that the picture quality just isn't the same as it is in the store, nor is the sound.

I have been on the phone w/ tech support and they told me to unplug my blu-ray player from the receiver and directly plug in the hdmi cable to the TV. They told me that the received was ldropping the signal quality Then they told me to install my receiver separately to the blu-ray player then to the TV. Did this, still sounds horrible.

It doesn't make any sense to me that it's a Sony receiver and I have this problem. Sony sold me a product that isn't compatible with bluray. They sold me a product that they new was crappy and now you can't even purchase it anymore (they took it off the shelves). Bottom line is that I have a receiver that cannot support 1080p and was not told this up front.

Has anyone else had this issue? What should I do? I don't evenk now if I can return it knowing all this information months later.
