Default Choke!

Choke is both written and directed by first-time filmmaker and actor Clark Gregg. The film is an adaption of Fight Club writer Chuck Palahniuk's novel of the same name. Choke premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and was bought by Fox Searchlight for around $5 million. The film currently arrives in theaters starting on September 26th this year.

Check out the Raunchy Red Band Trailer here.

The book is definitely very interesting. I don't expect this to turn out as well as Fight Club though. It's amazing a studio was actually willing to turn that book into a big budget Hollywood movie.

The funny thing is the movie is a revenge flick. It looks like they are just trying to push the raunchy side of this.

Here's the first trailer that is 'approved by the MPAA'

5 million is not a big budget at all.

The big budget movie I was referring to was Fight Club. Five million is an ultra low budget movie by today's standards. I did word my original statement a little poorly.

So, who is seeing this? I will be, as I loved the book and a big fan of Chuck Palahniuk. I have read this, Survivor, Lullaby, and am in the middle of Rant. Chuck Palahniuk is a great author, and I really hope this movie does well.

Just finished Rant, I am picking up Invisible Monsters next. So far, Lullaby is my favorite.

Invisible monsters is kinda confusing. You'll see what I mean. I'll pick up lullaby next.

Um, not as far as I remember. Not going to spoil the plot. Looking forward to seeing it, really dig Sam Rockwell (I still think HE should be the Riddler).

As for other Palahniuk books - you want Revenge? Try Snuff. (real page turner, and talk about raunchy)

Rant is weird, but good if you can make it through.

Lullabye is STILL my absolute favorite - HIGHLY RECOMMEND it!

Definitely! Make sure to look at Survivor and Rant after Lullaby. I am thinking about going back to revisit Survivor...

Invisible Monsters is definitely next, after that it is either Diary or Haunted....

Haunted was with the people in the house, right? - I liked that one too. Dug invisible monsters, though - yes - it was a little confusing. Don't think I read Diary or Survivor yet.

Ranked (fav to least)

Lullaby
Choke
Snuff
Haunted
Invisible Monsters
Rant (complex and interesting, but all the pieces just don't fit together tight enough for me. Felt like an overly complex version of the short story "All You Zombies" by Heinlein. Now THERE's a story ready to be a movie!!!)

My list would go like this.

Lullaby
Choke
Survivor
Rant

I haven't read Fight Club yet either.

RANT SPOILERS!!!

The thing I didn't like about Rant was the Boosted Peaks deal came out of left field. I was confused by how it was brought into the story??? I also am still not sure how Green is involved. Chet and Rant made sense, but Green too?? The ending just seemed to fizzle out as well...

I think the boosted peak idea was underdeveloped. So... at the end - did he figure out a way to become a human flux capacitor, or what? I'd strongly encourage seeking out "All you Zombies".
