Default Politics & Avatars

Hi - I know this forum (like many) have very strict rules regarding politics and the fact that they are not to be discussed on any level. I agree with this.

However, can this rule also apply to any avatars and signatures as well please? I have seen a few avatars denoting a users political standpoint and believe that such images should not be allowed and would only cause problems.

I hope you all consider this and agree. Much appreciated!

DM

And they're using the same one....... how original

For what it's worth, we know for a fact that one of them isn't even old enough to vote

Hehe. I am not trying to cause any issues, I just think that the Politics rule should extend to all aspects of the board. At least all of them that are seen by the users. Regardless of who might be sporting the image

Welcome back DrinkMore!

On topic... No doubt. Someone was explaining how our govt system works (thankfully deleted) and was so wrong that my head almost exploded. That's why this stuff has no place here.

Let's keep it blu!

I'm quite with this, as well. I've seen a pair or a trio here and there.

So is someone's avatar or signature offending you???

Jeez...what's this world coming to? There was a time, not that long ago, where if someone bothered you it was just too bad for you.

Freedom of speech is something that is taken way too literally sometimes, and yet at other time completely forgotten. It's okay for some people to say all the bad things that they want - but heaven forbid someone portray their political alegience.

normally i'd totally agree with you arush5268d, i'd rather it was anything goes around here, but since its not. the rules need to be enforced no matter what. especially on repeated trouble makers who aren't even old enough to vote

I think I'm gonna go yell "FIRE!" in the crowded "Blu-ray Movies" forum.

It's not a freedom of speech thing, its 'time-place appropriateness'. There are plenty of places on the web to discuss politics. This is a place to discuss blu-ray and its uses. That's the way the guys who run the board want it. We're in their sandbox, so we play by their rules.

If you report a post made by each of these users and give the appropriate description it'll be easier to look into.

Most instances, I do agree with you. However, the two most notable topics that incite problems ANYWHERE are politics and religion. The rules that apply to no topics on said subjects, need also apply to images and signatures as well.

Well there shouldn't be any political, religious, or sexual AVs on here. Those are the rules. I like a AV of a naked girl but it won't happen

Get over it. First we start banning the avatars you don't like, then what? I don't particularly like looking at avatars depicting half-naked men, should those also be banned? How about half-naked women? I'm sure there are some that are offended by those, too. Where does it end?

While we're at it, I don't really like cats, can we ban avatars with cats in them?

All the veterans here did need some old school ****-starting, the new wave of ****-starters bore me and do nothing but argue pointlessly.

Creativity is key! Now if they would just bring my ol' buddy Hawk back...

I'm getting the feeling that there's more to this than is being mentioned.

If someone would PM me and tell me exactly what the situation is, I'd appreciate it.

In response to yelling "Fire"......people are just as stupid as cattle. If you ever go somewhere and watch people - most really just do move in a herd. It's disgusting.
One person gets freaked out about something and everyone else will join in and stampede.
