I still buy HD-DVDs if they are cheap and older movies, but mostly been buying Blu-ray.

It's $34.99, cheaper than the DVD at $59.99, of course people are really going to be confused now. There will probably be a lot of unsuspecting people buying this.

It's only because people are still confused with HD-DVD over DVD. That's what happens when you take an existing logo used for over a decade and slap the newest latest and greatest two letters ever put together, "HD".

Amazing how they thought this wouldn't bring total confusion to the average consumer finally buying into home theater products.

What are you talking about? They absolutely knew it would bring confusion to the market and thats what they were hoping for.

You see HD DVD and you got an HD upconverting DVD player and you think this thing plays HD DVDs, not a ridiculous thought. You spend $65 (in the past) on something like Planet Earth, open it up, find out it won't play and guess what. YOU ARE STUCK WITH IT!

Now Toshiba just sold you a $65 product that is worthless to you, or is it?

See if you would just go out and buy yourself a $200 HD DVD player, then your $65 wouldn't be totally wasted, plus HD DVD is the future of disc media so your going to have to buy one at some point. So why don't you just buy that $200 HD DVD player and now you can buy all your new movies on HD DVD.

Then shortly after you find out there is this little thing called Blu-ray and Playstation 3, but guess what you've already spent a couple hundred on HD DVD.

Luckily, their shenanigans failed and they lost big time. Still feel bad for consumers, it really was deceiving and confusing.

They must have had quite a backlot of them to still have some in stock or are they still making ones already released?

It's too bad consumers are so stupid and not research a product before they jump in. If they got stuck with a disc they couldn't use because they thought it would work in their players it's their own fault. The packaging was different and there were warnings on the package.

Its not rocket science, a 34.00 item always moves faster than a 63.00 item

Looks like all versions are doing better, probably because this was just shown on the Discovery Channel last weekend. What are you going to buy when you do a search on Amazon? Buy the cheapest version...
