I can't wait until Universal announces this for the U.S. Maybe after that happens The Evil Dead will be announced by Anchor Bay (or whomever owns the rights now).

It sounds good enough for me. The image quality is my biggest concern and that delivers.

Well, last night when I read the review I was half tired and going to sleep and I only read the bit where it said the image quality was fantastic at the beginning not realising what it said after.

It did not come today, maybe tomorrow.

So the Director's Cut is included as an extra, but it's only in 480p?

I checked the site, looks like they may have raised it since you last checked as its a 5 right now.

Granted I only looked at the featured screenshots and haven't seen the feature length in Blu-Ray, but those captures look amazing compared to the DVD. Those captures though I'd rate atleast an 8 granted though they are expanded onto my TV therefore I can't give it any higher.

Eventhough I really want to own it, I'll be waiting for the US version.

Any hope Optimum had of saving themselves in my own eyes, after the multiple mistakes they've made, has gone right out the window here. They should have sourced the print used by MGM for the Hong Kong disc, the best DVD release of AoD this far. Sloppy work, guys.

Absolutely. That's the Director's Cut, too, so a 1080p version off that print would be fantastic.

Aight just received my copy today and watched it all.. Havent seen it before so obviously cant tell you how it looks compared to DVD.. What I CAN tell you is that I was pleasantly surprised! This is by no means the best looking disc out there, but the scenes in daylight looked waaay better than I had hoped for.. As for the dark scenes.. They did look in the low end of HD, but still I didnt see anything that annoyed me... They looked as good as I think they could, and I dont agree with the reviewer.. I actually thought it looked better than ``Dog Day Afternoon´´, which got a 4/5 in PQ... And I never complained about Dog Day... As for the audio, the reviewer said that the surround speakers werent used... I disagree, and I thought it was a good soundtrack... So if you like the film this is as good as it is going to be, I think!

As for the film: ``HAIL TO THE KING BABY!!´´

Just my two cents
