Default Why don't tV have

Why don't TV's have picture within a picture any more? Also why can they title the imputs. That would make my life easier expecially when hooking up HDMI and I can watch it show up with my other inputs. Just throughing out some ideas.

most TVs have PiP and allow you to rename inputs.
check specs before buying, simple as that.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I don't think I need it. My first HDTV did Picture beside Picture because it has 2 analog tuners. Aside from that, I had very little use for it. Was fun to play with a couple of times.

My bedroom has a 26" HDTV and a 19" HDTV used primarily as a monitor. Yet, rather than turn on the second set to browse, I rather flip the channels on my primary set.

Since PiP came out - I don't think I have used it. I tried it several times, sure, but it never really caught on.

And when you have to use cable boxes / sat receivers and the such it just gets to be more trouble than it's worth.

My mom, however, on her standard CRT TV uses PiP when she wants to watch two baseball games at the same time.

Any mom who uses PiP to watch two baseball games is a damn awesome mom. No sarcasm. I have a feeling your mom likes beer and grilled meat. Most baseball fans do.

She actually hates beer, but likes grilled meets.

Huge baseball fan, she is.
Red Sox is always on the primary screen - but she'll put another team's game in the PiP. My mom and sis are two of the biggest Red Sox fans.

Don't think that was sarcasm, it does seem cool that a mom would watch 2 baseball games at once.

Regardless, my first 2 HDTVs had PIP, but my current plasma does not. This weekend was the first time this ever bothered me, because Saturday night there were 3 good football games, Cubs game, and MMA fight that I was flipping between and PIP would have been nice. Still, that's the only time I've ever wanted it and I can live without it.

Cubs fan here, so I know all about annual disappointment. Throw in being a Patriots fan with last season's Super Bowl and Brady going down week 1 and I just want to forget about sports. I'm not even going to mention this year's Iowa football team.

That's a pretty neat feature if it does it all internally.
