Default Why do you guys just buy everything?

I see so many people on here buying movies like Sleeping Beauty it makes me scratch my head. I know that most people on here are 20-35 year old guys. Do you dudes seriously want Sleeping Beauty in your collection??? I mean unless you have a young child or something I see absolutely zero reason to have a title like that in your collections.

I know a fari number of people are suckered in my titles just because they are considered to be "classic" or whatever and that fancy packing with bright colors can be inviting but come on...

There was a certain span of years where I would have agreed with you - I only wanted "cool" and "deep" movies in my collection, not ones that were "childish." Then you just reach an age where you don't care anymore. Will I sit down and relax to Sleeping Beauty, or show it on a guy's night? Of course not. But it's a classic film, and I enjoy it greatly in the proper context. And the girlfriend loves Disney films, so she's always interested in watching that kind of stuff. There's also the fact that Disney movies go in the fault quickly and become scarce, so they are good investments for either a) later reselling, or b) if you plan on having kids eventually - I've helped a couple of mothers track down things like DVD copies of The Lion King, ones they could no longer find in stores.

I understand where you're coming from, but there are MANY reasons any person could own any given movie, so making potentially insulting blanket statements really isn't the way to go. A little perspective goes a long way.

1. Most people who buy Sleeping Beauty and other various Disney movies have kids

2. If not, who cares? They are good movies that if and when you have kids they can watch it

You have a point, but I think it's mostly the kids. When I went to get Zohan at Best Buy on Tuesday, there were at least three people in line with Sleeping Beauty and they were all fathers with a kid or two with them. But I wouldn't buy movies for myself that don't make sense to have. I mean look at the comments under the House Bunny article. I think out of the 25 or so comments, only one person said they would actually get it and everyone else passed. So it's not as illogical as you think but I get what you mean.

Although Sleeping Beauty is one of the most classic Disney movies, if not the most. It was released in 1959, so it's kind of a big deal to have it in high definition.

I agree here. I don't question my friends collections, I just accept that what they own makes them happy. I don't see a problem with it at all. People just enjoy different things. Just because you (as in the OP) may not like something, doesn't mean everyone else has to have the same opinion.

I'm 25, don't have kids, and am looking forward to buying this movie. A good movie is a good movie. Who really cares if it's animated, rated G, or whatever other reason you can conceive for not deserving a purchase. But then again, what do I know? I guess I should spend more time pumping iron and drinking protein shakes so I can be a tough guy like you, right?

Sleeping beauty, Cinderella, and Beauty in the Beast which are all geared toward girls are way better than most of the crap Hollywood releases....

And malicifent rules in Sleeping Beauty, is one of the greatest villans ever and
makes Sleeping Beauty way worth it whether you have kids or not

do you think a 10 or 9 year old boy or girl would have the money to purchase the equipment to play the movie sleeping beauty on bluray? most likely, no.
its usually people 18 and 35 years of age who own the right equipment to play this blu ray movie, but with all this said i would still not purchase it!

Sleeping beauty is amazing on bluray or DVD, better on blu though, thats why i bought it. I grew up watching Disney movies and I still love them and will continue buying any of the classics they put out on Blu. I dont get why thats so hard for you to understand. And im a 28 year old male. I hope thats ok with you.

I grew up on these classic disney films. I love them. they are childhood memories. + my wife really loves these movies too so they are perfect date movies. Also just because I'm a "dude" doesn't mean I don't like movies like that. Seriously, that's an idiotic statement that just because I'm a "dude" I "can't" like certain genre's/titles. I'm a film buff, I like LOTS of different genres and films. Enjoyment first, e-penis is last on my mind.
