Default Tuning Disk

All, I want to tune my tv the easiest and cheapest way possible. Searching around online it seems to be that getting a "tuning disk" is the way to go. Has anyone here ever used one, or have any recommendations? Thanks

It's easy to recommend Digital Video Essentials.

It's currently the only Blu Ray disc of it's kind,... and it's great.

Some other titles have test patterns though. Sony titles usually have them hidden and if you enter 7669 when the main menu is displayed you get to the test patterns.

Some loinsgate titles have the THX Optimizer patterns like T2 and maybe others.

A disney movie about a rat that cooks has a setup special feature with test patterns. (Sorry ... don't know how to spell Ratatouille.)

You may also want to try out the settings for your TV that are listed (if they are listed) on

www.TweakTv.com

For what it is, an online database of suggested TV settings, it's got a pretty good reputation.
