Default Importing a Region B player is very difficult

I have been dead set on importing a Region B Sony S-350 for a couple of weeks now, but it so seems nearly impossible. Amazon UK has it for a very reasonable price but when I proceed to purchase it it denies my address because it doesn't ship Blu-ray players to the US. Ebay Uk sellers are not willing to ship to the US either unless the player is going for an outrageous price.

Why is it so difficult to import one? I hear of plenty of Europeans who import Region A players but the opposite is quite difficult. Can anyone make suggestions on how I can achieve this at a reasonable price? Any trustworthy sites from the UK, France, or Germany?

Thanks for your help in advance guys.
