You'd have to supply us with the model number of the receiver. Some(most) can handle HDMI(which is what you should always use to connect equipment), but some do not have HDMI.

Return it and get the 605/606. Your receiver will not handle audio through HDMI, so you will never be able to enjoy the new HD audio codecs. While you are at it, I wouold return the Bose speakers, also, and pick-up an entry level set of Polks. Much better quality for your $$.

Aren't the Bose 3.2.1. system speakers proprietary to their own receiver? I'm not sure if you can use those in a receiver other that the one that comes with the 321 system. Now if you bought the 16's or 10's something of that nature they would be compatible with the Onkyo (or whatever) receiver.

The Bose 321 speakers cannot be used without the Acoustimass module. Otherwise, you'll have speakers that sound like they're cheap cellphone speakers. The Acoustimass covers much of the sound range (that makes everything come together) used in music and movies.

What is your price range? You can find something much better for the same or less money.

Without trying to start an arguement with others, my (and most others' advice) would be to STAY AWAY from Bose. You can purchase MUCH better speakers for the same or less $$.

Edit: Check out the speakers linked in Driver Kings's sig.

Well, I don't wanna spend anything more than 2,000. And I need a Home Theater System ASAP.

For 2000 dollars, take Ricshoe's advice or have a look at this as well.

Sweet! I think he means $2K total for receiver and speakers, though.

I wouldn't say it is bad, but I would say you can do a whole lot better for the money.
