Am I the only one genuinely excited about this release ?
![]() https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07LD4R4...v_ov_lig_dp_it Product Description From one of the masters of the film noir, Robert Siodmak (The Killers, The Dark Mirror), comes the consummate crime classic, Phantom Lady. After a fight with his wife, Scott Henderson (Alan Curtis, High Sierra) heads to a bar to drown his sorrows. There he strikes up a conversation with a mysterious, despondent lady who agrees to accompany him to a show uptown but withholds her name. Arriving home, Scott is met by grimly countenanced cops - his wife has been strangled with one of his neckties and he is the prime suspect. He has a solid alibi but his theatre companion is nowhere to be found and no one remembers seeing them together. When Scott is charged with murdering his wife, it falls to his devoted secretary Kansas (Ella Raines, Brute Force) to find the phantom lady and save Scott from the electric chair... Adapted from a hit novel by acclaimed crime writer Cornell Woolrich, Phantom Lady boasts stylish cinematography, cruel characters and memorable performances from Ella Raines and Franchot Tone (Mutiny on the Bounty). The film is presented here for the first time in stunning High Definition. ^^ Thanks much for the post!
It certainly has my interest. Although my love of different genres is far ranging, it's only been in the last couple of years that I've come to appreciate wonderful 'film noir'. Hence, I'm always looking for titles to expand my collection. Thanks again! ![]() Oh, and it looks like you can soon cross another off your "desired" list SPU! |

Not seen this, but sounds fantastic. The sort of film I'm usually happy to blind buy.

Yeah, been holding off on going Region Free myself, still on the fence. We are definitely seeing an improvement in titles coming out over here, but getting another machine might be the straw that breaks my wife's patience...

Doubtless Arrow have been encouraged by the sales of their other Noir titles to venture further into this territory. So effectively the more sales created by these titles the better the prospect of more in the future.
This is a splendid little film in its own right and I'm happy to encourage more releases like this. ![]() |

Pre-ordered. Seriously into noirs at the moment. I'm kicking myself for missing out on the Four Film Noir Classics box set. I know you can pick them up as individual releases now but I dawdled too much over the box set at the time. Few copies on eBay for £100 - £150 but stuff that.

I just got my copy of Phantom Lady today that I ordered from Amazon UK and it says that it is Region B on the back of the case. I thought this was going to be Region free according to DVD Beaver's review. Can anyone confirm if this is Region free or not? Thanks for any input.
I live in the States and I ordered from Amazon UK because it was cheaper than Amazon in the US. http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film4/dvd_r...dy_blu-ray.htm |

It's a dual-territory release, which means the disc inside is playable in both "A" and "B" regions. It isn't region-free or it would play in "C" as well.
