Default DIY Tactile Transducers?

Hey all - Just wondering if anyone has any good tutorials for homemade tactile transducers - I know I can get them for pretty cheap outright, but I'm intrigued by the idea of "do-it-yourself" just for the sake of doing it (as I already have ordered a few bass shakers)... I have two old 10 Bose woofers lying around that the cones have seriously deterioriated on (I can't remeber the models that they came out of... some vintage bose stuff... the cabinets were big square things, kind of like Klipsch Heresys). Anyways, I was snooping around and found that a few people have made some tactile transducers by removing the speaker cone, attaching a steal strip the to the dust cap of the speaker and then mounting it - has anyone here attempted this? Sounds like something to keep me busy, so I'm curious to know if anyone has had any success?

THANKS

EDIT: And on another note, how about just mounting woofers to the bottom of the couch? I'm sure this would probabley interfere with the rest of the setup and probabley sound like garbage, but remember this is for entertainment value only - not for an actual setup
