You can thank Iron Man for such a big jump.

Wait till 2009, when HD penetration is even higher and the studios finally open the floodgates for catalogue titles.

Yes, I realize I said penetration.

A fantastic result! Just imagine what TDK is going to achieve.

If anything has a shot to be the first million seller, it's TDK. I just don't know if the installed base is quite big enough yet. It will most likely take until after the holidays for it to reach a million.

That's only a 1 week snap shot.

Still disappointing when you see that Iron Man DVD sold 7,200,000 & the blu-ray version only sold 500,000.

I would expected it to be closer to 1M with blu-ray being the only HDM in town.

Why would you expect it to be closer? It's a format that's only 2 years old.

Iron Man will reach 1 Million before TDK. Maybe not in as quick of time, but Iron Man has a 2 month head start, and already has sold 500,000

The latest facts say the Blu-Ray sold 17% of what the DVD did.

Paramount's announcement highballed DVD, lowballed Blu-Ray, or both.

I know the percentage will go way down next week, but 145% is a great sign that Blu is doing well.

Well, considering that 300 sold about +200,000 in it's first week last year on blu-ray, I would of expected that blu-ray adoption would be in high gear by now.

500,000 is not bad but considering that 7,200,000 DVD versions were sold on just Iron Man, it's not that impressive.

Even Forgetting Sarah Marshall on DVD out sold all blu-ray titles combined last week.

It would be better to see the ratio of how many people bought a format versus how many people have that formats players.

There are still way way more dvd players out there, so DVD will outsell blu-ray for several years to come until there are more blu-ray players in homes.

That is ~7% of all purchases. That's a fairly strong indication that Blu-Ray is making steady progress.

Yeah, I hope once the numbers are known or clarified it'll be actually be over a million like the percentages would seem to indicate.
