Exclamation Uk Blu Ray Prices - Casino Royal - Amazon

Hi Everyone,

What is it with UK Price, they're so up and down, Mostly up.

I posted on here a while ago www.hmv.co.uk where selling about 10 Movies all £9.99 each inc delivery, I bought em all and got delivery. This must have been an error on Listing as all 10 went up a week later to £17.99.

I bought Into the Blue off Amazon in Jan for £6 again took delivery, again a week or so later £13.99...

Anyway that said www.amazon.co.uk have dropped Casino Royal to £13.49 which is cheaper than their standard DVD @ £14.99. Ive ordered mine, so if this is another error, I would hurry and order yours...

Does anyone know if the UK version of Casino Royal will play on a region 1 machine ?

No, new releases are region coded by Sony. It will change when the title isn't in any theatrical window anymore. BTW: search is your friend

I think I saw paidgeek saying that Casino Royal will not be region coded.
But other than that, new releases from Sony most probably will be.

If you have BD-P1000 with the original firmware the player is region free....

I've bought Casino Royal in the UK where I live, however my player is from the US.

My player has the new firmware, as it doesn't have the egg timer it has the dots.

If you can find the original firmware it will play region A and region B discs...
and this is only for the US model........If you had a European BD-P1000 with the original firmware you couldn't use region A discs........

I can only gather that HMV have increased the price because the PS3 is out in under 2 weeks. I also bought some blu ray movies from there for £9.99 and they are now £9.99.

Cheers
Steve

Apparantly, the Region A version of Casino Royal won't play in a Region B player (according to someone who had tried this over at AVS).

So I'm guessing this might be true the other way around as well.
Sorry.

You might be in luck after all. Below is a quote from paidgeek on AVS:
Quote:
My apologies.

I mistakenly thought every version was going out coded for all regions. The NA version was already completed as region A only. All other versions worldwide are coded region ABC. I'm truely sorry for an inconvenience this caused to those who purchased the NA version for use in other territories..
