i read this. great news about motorstorm and resistance and if this secret is true, the xbox is in some serious trouble. you can already begin seeing the xbox bois getting defensive on the internet about things. when a baseball game doesn't fit on your media format, the console is in trouble. after a slaughtering in 08 and another one i think in 09 for the xbox, MS is going to try to push the next console out in 10 i think and i personally think that will be their last one.

I think XBOX 720 will have minor advantages over PS3 at best and that by that time PS3 will be very cheap and the 720 will be expnsive and the consumer is going to say, I don't want to make that upgrade and its going to fall flat on its face and MS is going to exit the console industry for good. If people don't believe me about the 360 failing, the only markets were it sells even remotely well are the UK and US and the PS3 has been outselling the 360 in those regions as of late. Once the big hitters come out for PS3 its bye bye 360. Halo ain't going to look that great in 3 years.

So what else was I shown? Well, I was shown a trailer for a game not due out till 2009 but was sworn to absolute secrecy. Apparently, Sony just wanted to give a glimpse of what the console will be capable of.

In fact, the game is such a secret that when I mentioned the game to Phil Harrison last week he was unsure at first whether even to admit the title existed. When I explained I had been shown it under strict Non Disclosure Agreement terms he looked relieved.

I don't mean to be a tease - all I can say is that I was left speechless.
If the footage I was shown truly is "in game", as told to me by the Sony PR people, then we could be on the brink of a step change in what games consoles are capable of in terms of story-telling and immersion.

And there I'll leave it. Feel free to speculate on what I was shown. I cannot, of course, confirm or deny what it was....

Awesome news! I can't wait til people start pushing the PS3. right now the 360 is doing everything the ps3 is with similar graphics and performance. the 360 is getting pushed though with only using dvds once they start pushing the PS3 and filling up the BDs stuff is going to start happening.

4-player splitscreen offline for Motorstorm 2. woo-hoo! now that is what i am talking about. Resistance had a flat game design and dull worlds? that hurts...it really hurts. all i can think is that he is an Xbox Superfan and had to take a couple jabs at PS3 while he had the chance. if Resistance was an Xbox 360 exclusive it would have scored 100s across the board, won the Nobel Peace Prize...and an Oscar, and Governor Schwarzenegger would have given Insomniac Games the key to the city. so what does everybody think the secret game is? pretty exciting.
