Default $149 Samsung BD-P 1500 for Black Friday?

http://gizmodo.com/5062492/dealzmodo...n-black-friday

Quote:
You might want to hold off on buying a Blu-ray player for a few weeks, because thankfully, finally, seriously, and almost too-latedly, Blu-ray players will soon drop into truly affordable territory. A source close to Ultimate Electronics has told us to expect the Samsung BD-P1500 — usually about $400 — for $149 on this particularly welcome and poignant Black Friday. Ultimate Electronics is a primarily Midwestern chain, but look to be offering this deal in cooperation with Samsung — in other words, it's probably not the only place you'll see stupidly cheap Blu-ray players come November 28th. -Thanks, Carmel and Matt!
Beginning of mass adoption?

Hopefully, discs will also see a drop in price, otherwise people might be put off by $34.99 retail (cf Target and co). Amazon.com, save us !

Isn't this the same player going for $249 this week at Circuit City with the Matrix boxset for free? The deal basically makes the player $150-$175 already.

That's a great deal for people who want the Matrix box set. I don't, so here's hoping for a real price drop this holiday season!

I believe that in a couple of weeks the Insignia BD player will be advertised for $199 at Best Buy. People are going to have to start coming up with better excuses for why they haven't adopted Blu-ray than price.

The Samsung BD 1500 is now only $217 @ amazon with the Ultimate Matrix Collection free. Thus, a $150 sales price is not out of the question.
