Sports Champions will let you and your friends physically engage in an array of competitive sporting activities as you go head to head in six events. Make glorious wins seconds before your time runs out. Every event brings its own unique twist to the controls. Use your PlayStation Move as a racket in table tennis as you conduct high speed rapid exchanges against your challenger while you employ a variety of strategies and tactics to win; or ignite the arena and use your PlayStation® Move as a sword and swing your arm forward to blast your opponent right out of the ring. With the easy to use PlayStation Move and PS Eye anyone can crush, spike and smoke the competition in 6 challenging events that delivers the ultimate sports showdown. Sports Champions is as much fun to watch as it is to play as first-time players as well as experienced gamers will feel the adrenaline of winning or the heart-in-throat, watery eyed emotion of losing. All players will find it easy to jump straight into the action; and the additive challenge of each event will keep them coming back for more. So what are you waiting for?

KEY FEATURES
  • New PlayStation®Move allows players to engage in actions such as pulling a bow, lunging forward with a sword, blocking attacks with a shield, or perfectly tossing a disc into the goal several hundred feet away to score the big win!
  • Choose from one of 10 athletes from around the world to play a wide range of exotic sporting activities that include Disc Golf, Gladiator Duel, Beach Volleyball, Archery, Table Tennis and Bocce.
  • Players have a choice of three gameplay modes:
    • Free Play allows players jump in to play practice matches with your choice of gameplay options.
    • Challenge Mode lets players compete in a variety of events that deliver fast frenetic gameplay to boast their scores.
    • Champion Cup Mode where players compete against 10 athletes to become the ultimate champion.
  • Smoke the competition by improving your high score through detailed stats and online leader board system that show the world who's the best all-time athlete!
  • Progress your way through the Champions Cup mode to unlock characters, outfits, equipment, and additional extras.
  • Capture photos of your winning moments with PlaySation®Eye and upload them to your Facebook page.
  • Enjoy all six sporting events with a single PlayStation Move motion controller, or use an optional second controller for activities like Archery, Gladiator Duel or Beach Vollyball.

You'll also need two for the gladiator game. Every time I've ever seen that game demoed it was with two move controllers and not one move and one sub.

This confuses me as how can they package a game that requires an additional peripheral for single player play.

If the archery simulation is good, I'd be all over this. I used to shoot for real, until the range near me closed down, and I miss it so.

I think I saw a chart somewhere that said some of the sports champions games had an optional 2nd controller, but I don't think it was mandatory in any case.

The Fight: Lights Out is the only game that requires two motion controllers so far.

In Sports Champions, Gladiator Duel there's a button that switches motion control between weapon and shield. Can't remember how it works in Archery.

I know people always go on about 'it's not about the graphics' but this really does make Wii Sports look laughable.

I can currently get 2 bobble headed controllers and a navigation controller (already have the PSEye) for just £78 which doesn't sound too bad. I spent £150 for a stand for my G25 just so I can play GT5 so this seems almost a bargain

Hah those are cool little facts. Disappointing that computer wins 59% of table tennis matches though...come on people!

Got to play this a little bit this morning and it was a blast playing it. Played the bronze table tennis and only lost one match. I have a hard time on the serves, but no problems with the slams

Going to test out Fight tonight
