Default Planet Earth

I really really would like to see this in Blu, but it not having any solid extras is making me iffy.

Is it worth it? And is Blue Planet in blu?

Blue Planet

Planet Earth is worth it, so long as you get the BBC version with the Richard Attenborough narration. The Sigourney Weaver Discovery Channel version is only in 1080i and is shorter in length.

Planet Earth is worth it. Great documentary, pretty good picture quality. Make sure to get the BBC version, not the Discovery Channel one.

Is it the end all of blu-ray like some people act? no.
Is it worthy to be in any blu-ray collection? absolutely.

Definitely worth it, as mentioned above, be sure to get the BBC version not Discovery Channel version.

I have "planet earth", "blu planet", "earth: the biography" and, in my opinion, "earth: the biography" is definitely better compared to both "planet earth" and "blue planet" ("earth: the biography's" audio is DDTrueHD 5.1).
As far as I klnow blue planet is quite old.
I also have "uman body: pushing the limits" and, in my opinion, it is on the same level of "earth: the biography".

From the content point of view all of them are great!

bye
Mariano

I watched Earth: The Biography and I thought it was good but not AS good as planet earth, and the blue planet I am talking about is the one by BBC that you could buy with Planet Earth as a 2 set...idk if there is a different one. The human body thing sounds interesting, I think my friend told me about that show and how some guy survived being sucked up by a tornado?

I'm pretty sure he means the other Blue Planet—the ocean documentary by the people who did Planet Earth.

I am also waiting for that to appear on Blu.

Regarding the OP, I thought it was worth the purchase, but I also do wish it had the same extras as the DVD version.

The entire thing is a documentary..... what kind of "Extras" do you want!!!! The whole idea of a documentary of that length (and it's pretty long..... my wife knows..... because I've made her "look at it" so much) is that they include all of the good imagery etc.....

If a red-assed monkey was displaying various behavioral characteristics for 5 minutes, they'd show all 5 minutes, not cut it down to 60-90 seconds in order to show footage of other animals etc....

NO NEED FOR BONUS MATERIAL IN DOCUMENTARIES in my opinion

Beta. Bonus material on Docs is a good thing. Learning how they get certain shots is very cool. The equipment they use and the challenges (dangers) they face can be fascinating. Its like a Docu on making a Docu
