Default Help needed, buying Blu Rays on the Westcoast...

I'm from germany and currently on vacation on the Westcoast (next three Days S.F. and then L.A.)

Where is the best place to buy blu rays?

I tried Wal Mart and Best Buy near Los Banos, but both seemed to be not that cheap anyway.

Especially I am looking for Titles which have german language track like Casino, Poltergeist, Eraser etc.

Would be great if anyone can let me know where the best place is to buy one of those titles. I have seen eraser for 24.95 which seems not like a bargain to me. Others were mostly priced at 29.95 which also seems rather like standard prices than cheap offers.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

I'm on the east coast, myself, but there's a store out that way called FRY's that's having a sell on quite a few FOX titles right now for $13.99.

I can't recommend going to fry's enough....go to frys.com and get the address that's closest to where your staying in L.A. I beleive Eraser would
be like $22.95 normal price, but like the other member said they always
have great specials and alot of stuff will be $19.99....example is Sleeping
Beauty there is normally priced at $22.99, Indy 4 i beleive is $25.99 but
i could be wrong on that...

Thanks a lot for your help guys. I will definately check them out. Fox titles are unfortunately region code locked and have no german audio as well. English is fine, but I always want the film with german audio too.
I have seen sleeping beauty today at Best Buy for 34.99 which is terrible, even Wal Mart was 5 bucks cheaper on that one.

Best Buy and Circuit City. Circuit City has the better prices and Best Buy has the most you'll find in one place, other than at a few consumer's houses.

I say this all the time, if you can find a MovieStop, check them out. They have a wide selection of titles, and they keep used titles for great prices as well. They usually have a Buy 2 Get 1 sale or something similar running as well.

Failing that, try local GameStops, as they usually have one or two sitting around, and usually they even have then at B1G1. Failing that, try price matching a movie at Circuit City, at least then they'll beat whatever price you bring them by 10%.

There are many Best Buy stores in the SF Bay Area (2 in SF proper); they have the best selection but their prices are relatively high. I almost always buy from them only when they have sales, mainly on new releases (the new 'Ultimate Matrix Collection', for example, is only $74.99, which is a great price; I also just got 'Casino' there for $19.99, $5 cheaper than their normal selling price). These prices are in effect through this Saturday. Virgin Records and Amoeba Music in SF have a good selection of BDs, but their prices are even higher than Best Buy's. If you're in Berkeley (just across the bay), you might want to visit Rasputin's on Telegraph Avenue. (It's very close to where I work, so I go there often.) Their selection is pretty good and their prices are about $2 lower than Best Buy. They also have a small selection of used BDs. There are also several Fry's stores in the Bay Area, though none in SF proper; the closest ones are in Palo Alto (about 30 minutes south) and in Concord (about 30 minutes east). They have an excellent selection but their prices are similar to Best Buy's. However, they also have occasional sales.

No way... just forget Best Buy and Circuit City. Fry's Electronics hands down, has the largest selection of Blu-rays at the best prices. If you go to Frys.com, you can order the $13.99 sale items and choose store pick up (Oddly, they are not priced that low in the store).

Fry's Electronics. You'll get the best prices AND best selection there. It's basically Amazon pricing with few exceptions.
