i have an atari 2600. it may sound crazy to most people here, but i prefer those vintage games to most of the video games made for the current systems. there's something to be said for simplicity.

Not me im the exact opposite, today i wonder how the hell some of those games kept me happy and occupied. The nes was a big step forward but the games from atari are just unplayable for me these days. The annoying sounds that just kept repeating in a continuous mind numbing loop to the complete block graphics.

Thats not even going into how game developers were back then, i really think some of those games were made in a weeks time, unbelievible how low standards were back in the early to mid eightys.

Just finished a game of River Raid and a marathon session of Demon Attack before bed last night. I've played many of these games for years. But with these new games, after a few weeks I just lose interest.

River Raid was my game! Too bad my parents probably trashed my nintendo after I moved out and I know our 2600 is toast.

I'm building a MAME arcade cabinet, it's a long term project since the basement is taking up all my time...but I've got the control panel done and have tested it on the pc.
