I just took a look at a returns label I printed out the other day and I noticed it was for a Collect+ drop off point and not the Post Office. As usual the nearest point is miles away and a lot further than our 'local' Post Office. They all seem to be on busy roads with little parking as well!
It seems odd Amazon have dropped the postage option completely (although I assume it's a cost thing), I hope their level of service isn't about to drop along with it. The drop-off seems straight-forward but has anyone been sent out of their way because of this new method? |

If Amazon are sending you a replacement item then they use Collect + for people to return the faulty item. If you just want a refund then it is the usual Royal Mail option
It is a bit of a pain as not every newsagents offers the service. The one by me stopped earlier this year, so I have to go to the Bull Ring in Birmingham during my lunchbreak. I have had returned items go missing, but as the tracking information shows as soon as it is scanned and you also get a receipt, if Amazon subsequently charge you for the item, then you have more than enough proof By the way, they also give you the option to pay the return postage costs which they will refund if you don't want to use Collect + and prefer to use the post office. This is a standard option as not everyone has a printer so therefore not everyone can print a label off They don't get the item back as quick via Collect +, but as this is not used to return items for refunds and they allow a reasonable amount of time for the item to reach them, then this should never be a problem Last edited by mattyl149; 11-15-2012 at 07:00 AM. |
