I'm pretty sure that Powered Up was a remake of Mega Man 1. Not really sure what Maverick Hunter X was, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is a remake of Mega Man X, since the enemy bosses in X were called Mavericks (I believe.) I may have heard Powered Up was a little easier than the original, though, to make it more welcoming for today's wimpy players. You could always check www.gamesradar.com for a review and any other information (screenshots, etc.)

Mega Man Powered Up goes well beyond just a simple remake. It adds so much more to the original game. Highly Recommended

They're both great games and hopefully they'll be released in the PSP store to make up for their less than stellar UMD sales.
