Hercules (September 29, 2009) (Action Figure Deluxe Edition)
The Rescuers (June 15, 2010) (Special Edition)
The Rescuers Down Under (June 15, 2010) (Special Edition)
The Black Cauldron (October 26, 2010) (Special Edition)
The Hunchback of Notre Dame (February 15, 2011) (Special Edition)
The Great Mouse Detactive [June 7, 2011] [Clues Edition]
Lilo And Stitch [January 3, 2012] [Special Edition]
So Dear To My Heart [February 7, 2012] [Special Edition]

Did the article have a source that you could post? Wikipedia is iffy enough as it is, but when the information isn't cited... Well its usually not a good thing.

Song of the South definitely makes this questionable.

Like I said, Wikipedia is the source. And like the title says, the dates were found, not confirmed.

I meant was it cited. Like did it have a link to a footnote to where whoever wrote it found the information, or was there no citation at all?

No it did not, but nothing on the page did. Unusual, but no it was not cited

Well we can just hope for the best!! Because news of both Rescuers, Hunchback, and Hercules is very, very, welcomed news. Add Pete's Dragon to that list and it'll be a second xmas that year!!! lol

If they were announcing Song of the South for real...WE'D KNOW by now.

(Our wishful-fanboy lil' improvisationist also failed to notice that So Dear to My Heart already HAS been released, as a Disney Movie Club Exclusive, and retail upgrades don't usually get "Special Editions"...)

So you would expect an official announcement 4 years in advance

Well, I'd expect something that sounds a lot less like Wishful-Fanwank #7, "Black Cauldron:SE" included...

No, really, you'd need to be gullible to believe any of this.

Here's the article where it's at, by the way: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...other_editions

Let us all play nice.

Back to point I think Disney should give The Rescuers the platinum treatment.

Why would you have to be gullable. If someone were to edit it, I would think there are better titles to add on there. And they already got Oliver and Company right.

I'd pick these three up day and date. Black Cauldron was one of my favorite books as a child, and the movie wasn't too bad. I had picked it up on DVD ostentatiously for my son, but I'm sure anybody who's had kids knows the truth.

Mr. 74.212.57.235 is the one who added all these changes according to the article's history. On the day Oliver & Company was announced, he added fixed dates for 4 titles after Hercules, the next day he finally added Oliver & Company + two other random titles to the list, and a bit later delivered the final blow with So Dear to My Heart and Song of the South.

He also changed this sentence by adding "Dumbo", "Alice in Wonderland" and "The Fox and the Hound."

Quote:
The Platinum Editions are the 14 top-selling Disney Animated Classics. In the Spring of 2003 Disney changed their Platinum Edition line adding 7 more titles (adding ''Peter Pan,'' ''Sleeping Beauty,'' ''Pinocchio,'' ''Fantasia'' ''Dumbo'' ''Alice In Wonderland'' ''The Fox And The Hound'')

I want Peter Pan and the Lion King. Those are the two big guns that I would buy on Blu. Possibly the Jungle Book too.
