Default My Bike Was Stolen.....

Today I found out that my bike was stolen. It was locked up and everything and the bastards took it. That bike and I had a lot of good memories.

With the loss of one bike, I’m hoping will come another bike.

Here’s to you, old friend.

Anyone got their bike stolen before?

Yeah, it sucked. Fortunately mine was unique enough that it was easily identifiable. A friend of mine spotted it on E-Bay a year later and with the help of the police, my bike came home. Good luck to you.

I had a Huffy White Heat (those were the jam back in the day) that somebody stole. I ended up getting a Trek to replace it, so I guess it worked out.

Yeah, mine was a "Giant" brand bike. I plan on getting an upgraded one, but when I don't know

Giants are very nice.

Sadly, you should always bring the bike inside! I've had a bike and a car stolen.

The thing is I usually do, but our apartment elevator was out (and its a hassle to bring it up without it), so I used the rack.

I had one stolen (they cut through a ½” thick cable)

But, the thief was nice enough to leave his beat up rusted out piece of crap bike he had been riding in its place – with my old cable wrapped in a nice bow-tie around it

I had a Bianchi touring bike in the early 90's, expensive (paid over $1,000 + about $300 in mods and parts), someone actually broke into our garage and stole it.

There was a lot of debate about where he got it from- found it, bought from someone else, etc.... Since I got it back in nearly excellent condition, I let it go.

PS- It was a Giant TCR team issue frame with Dura-Ace 25th Anniversary components- +/-$6500.
