Default What's going on with Amazon?

I pre-ordered the Hulk awhile back from them, and it had a release date of 10/27 at the time. Now it is saying the 21st, but they just shipped mine yesterday. It says delivery is scheduled for the 27th though.

They are really slipping up on the last few new releases I've bought from them, as I didn't get Iron Man until a week after it's release date. I used to get them right on the release date, or at most the next day. Any one else having this problem?

Since it's official announcement, The Incredible Hulk has always had a release date of 10/21/08. Now, if you pre-ordered it from Amazon and choose the free shipping option, the 27th of October could be you estimated arrival date. But the movie itself was released to day. Day-and-date with the SD DVD.

Thanks. I think one mistake I made in the past was that I somehow checked, or it was added without my knowledge, for them to group items in as few shipments as possible. This would delay one until the other is released. I fixed that option to "ship as soon as available."

That shouldn't have happened with the Hulk, but hopefully it is the last time I get one a week late.

I have been getting movies sent to me from Amazon for over two years and it is rare to not receive a movie within a couple days from release date with free or regular shipping. I did switch to Amazon Prime earlier this year so I know my movies will be at my doorstep on Wednesday everytime.

I've been buying from Amazon for years too, and this just started happening to me not long ago. Hopefully I fixed the problem though.

I normally order my pre-orders from Amazon the day before release date with free shipping. They invariably send the shipment earlier than the estimate (usually 7 days later), frequently the release date or 1 or 2 days later.

I've been complaining to Amazon for a couple of months now about recent shipping delays. I used to get my stuff like clockwork, but a few months ago most of my orders started coming out of someplace in Lexington, Kentucky. Whenever my movies ship from there they always take several days longer. Also, they don't seem to scan packages in or out so you can't use the tracking info to even check status. The only way to see if it's coming out of Kentucky is to check delivery status on Amazon's website. If you check on USPS.com it just says that there is no record of your shipment

I would be happy to pay for Prime, but not available here so I'm just screwed I guess.

USPS doesn't offer tracking like UPS/FedEX, just delivery confirmation, that's the difference you're seeing.

I was blown away this time around.

I got a shipping notice (standard paid shipping) from Amazon at around noon on monday (10/20/2k8) and I received my order on the release date!!!

This never happens....I usually get my stash on wednesdays or fridays.

Well it's not free if you're paying for the prime, is it?

Hmm. Sounds like I'm not alone with the shipping delays. The Hulk shippped on
Tuesday with an estimated shipping time of one week!!

I live in Mississippi, so I don't know how close I am to the nearest distribution center.

My prime "2-day" orders are going a bit more and more UPS ground these days. Seems to be a lot of f-ups in that particular delivery channel. Should have had "Omen" yesterday, but they forgot to put on the truck... Should have had "Blow" in 2 days, but that took a week or so since they screwed up the routing and sent it one state over before getting it back to me...

So, answer to what's going on with amazon? They're cutting back on their expenses every which way they can...
