What you probably have is a passive subwoofer, that has just plain ol' two speaker wire connections? Nothing fancy, right? What you would need is an amplifier to hook it up to your Onkyo - although with all due respect, you'd be better off purchasing a subwoofer instead of using your passive sub.

www.partsexpress.com would have an amplifier in the $100 range, but why spend that money on something you will replace?

Well, friend, with your receiver all you would need are one of these:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

to connect your subwoofer to it.

Two questions. How much are you paying for the sub, and why did you decide to go with it?
