If you were 12... - Blu-ray Forum

This may be better suited for the off-topic discussion thread... But it pertains to the PS3 AND games, so I wasn't sure... anyway...

If you were a 12-year-old boy, or if you are 12... would you rather get:

1) Guitar Hero and Mortal Kombat vs DC
2) Guitar Hero and LittleBig Planet
3) 5 or 6 PSN download games (PAIN!, Penny Arcade, ect.)

for xmas? Any help would be awesome.

you said little big planet so whichever one is with that one. On a side note , i'd go for a mix of LBP and PSN. All depends on how much guitar hero was a factor before or if it's a new thing for this year.

Cool. He mentioned Guitar Hero. But never LBP. But i'm SURE he'd love LBP... I just wanted other opinions rather than just a blind buy.

12 year old boy or girl? No matter what, I suggest little big planet and guitar hero... Mortal Kombat is kickass and I played it at that age... but they're 12... and mortal kombat is violent and bloody

It's a boy and he has about 4 MK games already... he just wanted the new one for the DC aspect.

Ya , i'm pretty sure little big planet is the safest blind buy ever. lol. And if he mentioned guitar hero than it's a no brainer!

That's what I'm thinking... But with Guitar Hero being so much he's not getting much else from me. I didn't know if that would be better or if the game play would loose it's effect after a while... hence the multiple PSN games.

Kids usually see the big gifts as a better token. 6 PSN games may last longer, but make a smaller impact.

It was voted game of the show at E3(the biggest gaming expo)
Does he have a WII, DS, PSP, XBOX360?
maybe one of those with Little Big Planet!!

He wants a wii... but I know he wont play it as much as he thinks he will... He's getting out of kiddy games, so it's not really a good investment.

I'm getting a lot of LBP, which isn't a surprise... lol. I should have said:

LBP and: 1) MKvDC, GH, or PSN Games...

I think i'll go with LBP and see what OTHER game listed in the poll wins out to see what I can pair it with.

I don't think he cares. We went to this restaurant that had it and he played a few tracks and liked it. I'm not sure how burnt out he'd get...

Ah.... Well I'd say go with MK.... but it comes out in November so if he actually is interested in GH you'll hear about it soon.

That's true. I thought about MK and LBP and seeing if I could get a cheap old GH from ebay or something and just giving it to him just to do it... not as a xmas gift. But we'll see. I value the opinion of this board.

What are you guys and gals getting your little ones?

I picked 1.... I don't think a 12 year old can really appreciate the depth of LBP. I know when I was 12, I wanted the instant gratification of MK.

I choose #1 as when I was 12 years old all I cared about was fighting games. Also I was a huge fan of comic books, so #1 seemed the most logical.
