Default Panasonic BD10a in the UK.

Just popped on to the AV-land website and saw this:

http://www.avland.co.uk/panasonic/dmpbd10/dmp-bd10.htm

then followed the page link to this:

http://www.avland.co.uk/panasonic/dm.../dmp-bd10a.htm

Seems like the BD10a with HDMI 1.3 is available in the UK, and for a startling price of only £699!

Do I get one now or wait a bit longer?

Also, is this simply a firmware update in disguise?

If this is an enhanced version, then wow it does pack quite a lot.

-1080p/24fps playback
-Dolby support (NOW UP TO TRUE HD )
-DTS support (now up to DTS HD)
-and it's now in FULL-BLACK color (wow!!!)

This looks like a neat deal from Panasonic.

I also found this advertised at AV Land, and have telephoned them today. They say they don't expect stock until sometime in April, so where have you managed to find stock, Filterlab?

The player looks great and it definitely sounds preferable to the Samsung, which I had demo'd for me yesterday and was not particularly impressed.

This player looks like a good buy, I only wish it were BD-Video 1.1 compliant, I don't want to spend more money on a player with gimped functions, I have the Samsung for that .

Seriously though, for that price and those specs it is not bad at all, just not for me.
