Acting looks great. Story looks interesting.

The thing that puts me off is the flat digital look. It sucks so much charm and grit out of a western.

Watched this last night and it was not what I expected. It’s a very slow burn movie but is also unexpectedly hilarious at multiple points but then also quite a downer in others. One of those movies where you will know early on if you are on board with its tonal shifts or not. It is very much the female lead’s movie and she does quite well.

I don’t think it is one I would revisit but I enjoyed my time with it.

I really liked this film; a lot! Vicky Krieps gives a spot on performance, exuding a strength of character while managing to display a wonderful tenderness that gives this film its soul. While the film is intimate in its story, the cinematography allows that intimacy to play out on a grand canvas reminiscent of the epic scope displayed in the westerns of the likes of John Ford and Sergio Leone.

Viggo did a good job technically. The acting and directing were fine. For me the script wasn't there. Someone mentions it being a slow burn but I simply found it slow. The ending also left a lot to be desired and Garret Dillahunt was wasted in his role. 5/10.

Loved this, a really pleasant surprise. Krieps is fantastic. Viggo did a fantastic job.

Bought the 4K Dolby Vision Digital for $6.99 on FAH yesterday instead of the Blu-ray.

It looked fantastic and the performances were great but was a one time watch for me unfortunately. That being said I hope the production team keep these coming since Old Henry was magnificent.
