USA Dracula 2000 Blu-ray (Scream Factory)

Scream Factory will be doing a new Blu-ray release of Dracula 2000 (2000) in May. It'll be sourced from a new 4K Scan from the OCN, and approved by the director. There will also be several new extras, including a commentary track.

Quote:
Long ago, Abraham Van Helsing (Christopher Plummer) imprisoned the infamous Count Dracula (Gerard Butler) within a vault inside Carfax Abbey. In the present day, Van Helsing relies on Dracula's immortal blood to remain alive. But then thieves breaks into the vault and steal the vampire's coffin, thinking it contains something valuable. Liberated from his prison, Dracula seizes the opportunity to escape, but Van Helsing sets out to banish him to the crypt once again.

Hope we get the other two to complete the trilogy. This easily could've been a triple pack.

You know… when I bought the trilogy DVD from the Walmart bin last month, I assumed that would be enough to make a trilogy blu ray set happen.

I’m not surprised to see this coming, and I’m glad, but I was hoping after Vinegar did the Prophecy set that they would do a Dimension Dracula trilogy box. That could’ve been great. I’m sure the sequels are coming, I just wish they were packaged together.

I'm glad they're going through the Miramax stuff but this one's a pass for me. If I'd wanted this, I would've preferred a 4K. This one's already got a Blu-ray.

It's a safe bet this release will include the missing bonus features, hence the lack of Collector's Edition moniker. A "new" special edition that is just the old stuff brought back, which is certainly not a complaint.

Also, someone remind me: Vitamin C is in this film, is she not?

ALL NORTH AMERICA RELEASES ARE MISSING ALL THIS:

There is one more:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Dracu...Blu-ray/49066/

This one has the film in its original OAR, in 1080p, and the following extras:
-Audio Commentary by director Patrick Lussier and writer Joel Soisson
-Behind the Scenes
-Storyboards
-Deleted Scenes

It's also important to note that the 1.78:1 version of the film is open-matte and not pan-and-scan.

Unless this gets a brilliant looking new 2k/4k scan, then I'll probably just stick with my Alliance Blu-ray.

Yes but none of them are any good

They're all either in 1080i or in the incorrect aspect ratio

This Shout release is more significant than you'd think, especially considering there's a very high chance it's gonna be a remaster

Dracula 2000 getting a new 4K Scan from OCN, and approved by the director, so they could have done a 4K release here..Also has lots of new extras, so I'm surprised it's not a CE either.

More than pleased to hear it’s a new scan from the OCN, should look great. And new interviews and commentary.

Nice get with the new bonus material too!

This was one of my first DVDs, bad movie but I used to love it (Vitamin C! lol), feel like Blade Trinity even ripped this film. As for these Shout Blu rays.... I giggle a little bit at them, because they just seem like minimum effort drops for maximum retail, and I could maybe live with that if they were Ultra HD but no, so I'll refrain and keep my money for better products.

at least now there will be a not ugly home video release, we finally can work with a letterboxed transfer and in 1080p

I'm so glad that a lot of those ugly ass early 2010s Miramax BDs we were all forced to suffer with all these years are finally being rectified by various different labels

As mentioned before, this one had the correct aspect ratio in 1080p and ported over the bonus features:

That being said, the Shout release having a new 4K remaster is grand news. Though I'm puzzled that it didn't get a 4K release because of it.
