It looks like it's supposed to be more like creating new games, instead of adding onto an existing one with LBP. But there are definitely some similarities.

Since it runs off a PC, I wonder if you'll be able to create your own items from scratch? It would be pretty cool making a game with pics of your kids in it ala the southpark cardboard cutouts.

umm. not Quite, there is Quite a few things that seperate both, yes in alot of ways its like LBP in principle, but thats with any thing ..example a shooter..is a shooter. its what Functions inside the shooters enviroment, and art concepts, and styles and flow thats just the start of things that seperate shooter's.

this project is more about teaching the concepts of game development with on hands tests, directive visual program building blocks to solve problems for the introduction into game concept theory:

a good example of such is this read on if your interested:

i thought this project was about this e-mail beta crap they are doing. Where if you send a certain amount of e-mails Mircosoft will pay you. Or something like that.

I don't see what's so special here. Oh wait, there is one thing after all: Usually MS copies off Mac and this time they do it off LBP in other words Sony.

Companies have projects developed that in many cases run along the same lines, this is nothing new. its just that both LBP, Boku are projects that apeal to me. I think being critical of a project is OK if that is Your Opinion, but To me Teaching game Development and getting out new way's to Teach Game theory no matter which company it is. it should not matter. Its a good thing the more that's out there. Industry Growth is a great thing.
