Default Futurama Benders Game

So this movie is coming on both Blu-Ray and DVD, so I am trying to decided which to get, I mean I love Futurama, and my Futurama collection would look odd if I had one Blu-ray in it, also Futurama always has amazing box art, I have a fear that they'll ditch the creative box art and just put it in a normal blu ray case. Also I have the Simpsons Movie on Blu Ray, and while it does look nice, it definitely not THAT much better then DVD, traditional animation doesn't seem to benefit as much from blu ray as cgi. So over all which do you think is a better buy for a Futurama fan who cares about the case and what not?

I'd say go for the Blu-ray! That's what I'd do.

I know what you mean Mr. Sparkle. I don't exactly care about the casing but one Futurama movie on blu-ray seems like the odd man out especially with the first two movies on dvd. But I think I am going with the blu-ray. If they do it right, it should look really good.

I've actually held off buying the previous two movies because I want them on Blu. The Simpsons movie is absolutely amazing, definitely much better than you give it credit for. It has a 1080p preview for the first Futurama movie, which made me want to wait even more. That said, I'm going to wait until they are ALL out on Blu, because I don't want to be stuck with only half. I'm hoping they are working on a cool boxed set.

I'll end up getting the Blu-Ray. I have the other two on DVD, but it won't sit next to the other DVD's on my shelves. I have my BD's organized alphabetically, and my DVD's arranged alphabetically. So it'll fit in perfectly with my other BD's and the DVD's fit together perfectly.

Sounds exactly like my shelves. I really like being able to squeeze in another row of BDs, not to mention how many more per row you can get in there.

LOL! Anyways, I would get the Blu version just because the animation style looks like it could be stunning in HD. ( If you really want the DVD cover, find a local owned video store and ask nicely if you can have an extra cover, sometimes you can get lucky )

I will likely get it on blu. But it frustrates me to no end that they are starting to release the movies on Blu-Ray half way into releasing them like this.

I wish they had started releasing them on BD from the get-go. I would be fine with just having the TV series on DVD and the movies on Blu-Ray. But now not only will I likely double-dip when/if the first two come out on BD, but I may actually end up double dipping on Beder's Game and the next one (just to have all of the DVDs together, as well as the Hi-Def version).

how about just only double dip on the 1st 2 movies to Blu and then just trade them in at a video store or sell them on places like amazon or ebay?

I'm getting the Blu. I want the best PQ/AQ.

I don't care for pain in the ass 'creative packaging.' I've built my own custom entertainment center, complete with shelves that are tall enough for Blu-ray/PS3 cases, but to short for DVD cases. One of my friends calls them 'elitist shelves.'

I'm waiting for the eventual box set of all 4 TV movies on BD instead of picking them up one by one.

I was at the Best Buy in Tracy, CA. yesterday, and they had the blu-ray already out. So...I bought it. It looked alright (better than the DC New Frontier blu-ray anyway), and was better than the suck Beast w/ A Billion Backs, and a little better than Bender's Big Score.

Anyway, people should go check their Best Buy's out, cause it seems they are putting them out early (I thought it was supposed to come out next week.)

I will be buying it. Seeing as the other movies are coming out Blu-Ray next year they will be a great addtion.

I'm sure the others will be coming out eventually.
