Alright since most questions in the Socom thread are related towards the Bluetooth Headset, I thought it deserved it's own thread.
First, all your questions can be answered if you read the manual, and here is a link to the official manual for the PS3 Bluetooth headset; http://www.us.playstation.com/Conten...HS_MANL_en.pdf Now if you want a quick way of how to sync your headset here it is, and if you run into problems read the manual, and if you still do not understand, post here. 1. Delete any existing registered Bluetooth Headset. 2. Make sure you have PS3 2.5 firmware downloaded and installed. 3. Turn on the PS3 and leave it on the XMB, you do not need to scan for the headset so do not even try. If you do scan, you will not get all the features for the headset. 4. Take the PS3 bluetooth headset out from the cradle, and plug the USB connector into the headset directly, and than plug the USB into your PS3. ![]() 5. You will see it blink on power and mute a couple times, and the syncing process is done. |

Unless the head set shoots old gold bricks im not sure why or how anyone can get excited over a headset.
Well unless it flips out and has a lcd monitor that goes over your eye showing you health, ammo in clip and reloads left, and a ring informing you of where nearby enemies are located and allies. |

4 responses and not one questions, either my first post is so good it answered everyones question or it just has not been seen yet by those in confrontation thread.
I'll think it is the first! and P.S. the headset rocks...very noticeable difference in online play from all other headsets. |

I already have a headset, but everytime I turn it on, it causes me to lag on COD4. I am connected to my router through wifi, so im assuming it causes interference. I've tried switching the channel on my router, but same results.
Im interested in this new Sony Mic, but I'm afraid that it will not fix my problem. I've never played a Socom game but heard its very tactical, how much would I save by purchasing the game+mic combo, rather than just the mic itself. |

My problem with my current headset is that if I turn the volume up on my system the headset picks up the sound and transmits it, which would be annoying to others.
So does the official headset have this problem? I read about the noise canceling features and other stuff but I am worried it's just marketing BS. |

If you took the time to try this headset, you would know why people are flipping out. Seriously, during our R2 games tonight there were people telling others to turn off their headsets because of how crappy everything sounds now compared to this new headset. The difference in quality is massive. It's not a slight difference, it is BIG. This headset has a quality level I would have never expected in a BT... Even one costing 3x more (and, I've tried those too). If you are 'serious' about online gaming, then you simply must use this headset. Even after only a couple days there's a huge 'have and have not' mentality growing on it since other BT's are so obnoxious sounding now. |

I bought this headset because the only head set I could find that did not have connection problems, sound quality problems, feedback, etc was a USB headset... and then what is the point of having blue-tooth.
I also dislike that blue-tooth's of this quality (noise canceling, etc) cost, at a minimum, twice as much. I also got it for $40 with Socom because of the B2G1 at TRU, and so I basically got it free (or socom free depending on how you count it). |
