Default Blu ray and PS3

I was thinking of getting a Playstaion 3 but I'm not to thrilled with the slide in bit for the disks. Had that type of player before and it was a night mare on the disks. Do they make a different model??

That's the only kind they make, and it's not bad at all. I've never had a problem with it.

there is no ps3 with a tray loader but I don't think anyone has any problem with the ps3 ruining there disks. I am sure everyone will say the same thing.

I haven't heard of anyone have any issues with it. If you are that concerned about that aspect then I suggest just laying it horizontal.

Not that I know of - but I use my PS3 daily with Blu-ray movies, games, DVD movies and CD music, and CD ROMS with AVIs - no problems so far.

I think, with millions of PS3s out there, that if there was a problem (scratching, etc.) it would be all over the internet.

I think you're safe, even with the "slide in".

this is a non issue. i have plenty of devices that dont have trays and never had any problems with disks getting stuck or scratch. if you use it 'properly' you will have no problems. in fact i find tray's more of a problem cause some lazy people just lay the disk on the tray and push the button to close it without even laying the disk properly inside the circle.

Slot loading is the future.

On the plus side, I've never had a slot loading player ruin any disc for me, whether it be CD, DVD, or BD.

Also, we have that hard coating thing going for us.

OMG, I would HATE to have one that is tray loading ... I had a 360 long ago .. the damn thing had a minor jam ... I had to physically get down and stick a knife or something in there to give it a pop while I hit eject for it to come out ....

slot loading is the sh!t ...

Just buy it ... not to mention it loads the disc alot faster than stand alones.

I thought it might be a problem when the PS3 was first revealed but I've had no trouble with the slot loading whatsoever, it's actually a lot more convenient than tray-loading.

Aside from the slot loader mechanism possibly failing (rare and same problem with a tray loader) I have never heard of anyone with a problem with this.

Just make sure you remember if there is a disc already inside before trying to put another one in. That's the only problem I can imagine anyone ever having.

I was skeptical at first too, but it works great, no problems at all. I wish my 360 had slot load.

Yeah-- there are no problems whatsoever with this style of disc feeding. I find it way more convenient, and I have not once heard about any type of problem with it.

The only issue that I've had with it is when I took apart PS3 and my BD drive with a disc already in it. But I am really the exception as I was doing something that I wasn't suppose to be doing.

I have never had a problem with any of my Blu-rays, or any media I put in the PS3 getting scratched. They go in perfect & come out the same way. Don't worry about it for even a second.

This thread is kind of funny... because of the PS3, I have grown to despise any device that is NOT slot loading.
