Speaker Wire, Power and HDMI placement

Hello,

I am installing speaker wires and HDMI cables. My understanding is that the HDMI cables should not be placed along side of the power because of interference issues. I read somewhere that they should be about 14 inches apart if they are placed along side of each other.

Is there a "rule of thumb" for speaker wire? Is it bad to have the speaker wire next to the power wires? Because of the wall configuration, I may need to place the speaker wires next to -or- close to the power wires.
