Default The Barbarians (1987) coming from Scorpion

The two giants of Kino Lorber and Scorpion Releasing are preparing to bring you two more giants to your TV screens very soon. We are proud to be presenting the cult classic action film, The Barbarians, starring everyone's favorite muscle-bound twins, David Paul and Peter Paul. Directed by the iconic Ruggero Deodato (Cannibal Holocaust), this story sees twin Barbarian brothers Kutchek and Gore seeking revenge against the Warlord Kadar (played by the late, great Richard Lynch) for massacring their tribe and kidnapping them when they were children.

The film also stars such greats as Eva LaRue (CSI: Miami, Ghoulies Go to College), Virginis Bryant (Demons 2, Demons 3: The Ogre), and Micheal Berryman (Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes).

Start flexing those biceps now because The Barbarians is coming very soon!

Nice! Scream/Shout released this on DVD so I figured it would be coming from them instead.

Since Kino/Scorpion licensed this from MGM, please tell me they also picked up Double Trouble from MGM too:

Things have been getting confusing since Scorpion have their own MGM deal, but I think this one is technically a Kino title (as part of the new deal Walt has picked out 9 titles which he will produce the discs for, rather like he did with Drum, Burn Witch Burn, Killer Force, etc).

Whatever became of Peter Paul & David Paul? They seemed to be big in the late 80's & early 90's with a number of movies that they both starred in together but like a fad they came & went.

David Paul died back in March of this year and Peter seems to be retired from everything.

RIP David Paul

They were pretty hilarious in D.C. Cab. These guys were some of the few bodybuilders that could actually swing the weight around the gym. Very strong dudes. They used to drop by the Centerline Powerhouse in Michigan back in the 80's. Never interacted with them, but was told they were pretty good guys. It's too bad we gotta get old.

I have vague memories of this movie being so bad it was good. May give it a go if the price is right.

I'm really into the mid 80s sword and sorcery/apocalyptic genres, that being said the leads in this movie are terrible. Like, really really bad. The movie is bad. Much worse than a lot of the enjoyable movies in the same vein

I'm excited to purchase this

Would love to see the 'Atlantis Interceptors' getting a release. A pretty bad movie, but somehow memorable.

I'm gonna pick this one up for sure. These two guys are great and this movie was cool. It's no Conan but it was still goofy fun.

Any idea what special features this release will have?
