Default This normal?

I never noticed this before on my 32" LCD, but with my new LCD I notice like...an edge problem. During games, the edges of the scenery sort of flicker as I move the character. I remember the edges being smoother. The edges close up don't distort like that, but the edges farther off do. In places with a lot of scenery it just looks like a bunch of pixelation when you move around. It's driving me crazy. A good example is like when you have the sharpness jacked all the way up and the edges look real hard and pixaly. However, turning down the sharpness on my set doesn't fix the problem, it just makes things look washed out. The edge problem is still there. I also tried plugging the PS3/Wii directly into the TV, bypassing the receivew; It didn't seem to fix it. What's wrong with my set? All the reviews say this TV is one of the smoothest TVs out there. I'm sort of freaked out. If something's wrong with the set, this TV isn't exactly small and easy to move around.

Also, there's no calibration settings for my TV out there. Does anybody know where I can find some decent settings, please. Right now I have it calibrated to a lower end ln52a650 model. It seemed to help a little, but I still notice it.
