Default Silly extras in TDK

Wow, it seems people have taken TDK a bit too seriously and Warner's marketing group is capitalizing on the fans stupidity of hailing an average movie to cult status.

I mean, is an extra feature like this really needed? Do studio's think we are that dumb to explore the 'psychology' of a man dressed as a Bat?

Batman Unmasked: The Psychology of the Dark Knight Geez, give me a break!

That is actually a really interesting show that they had on the History channel during the week of TDK's release.

I am looking forward to it.

You can't be serious. According to this childish logic, they can make Fantastic Four seem 'deep' too.
You guys are far too gullible.

So, from what I gather, you think it's impossible for a film to be complex and deep simply because its characters wear costumes, right? There's no way that good writing, direction, and visual storytelling, as well as actual complex characters can overcome the fact that the main character dresses like a bat, right? Interesting.

There's nothing deep about TDK. If you think a couple of endless, corny monologues towards the end about 'justice' and 'chance'--which have been reiterated countless times by many folks before TDK (if you people have the memory) makes a deep movie, then I don't know what to say.
Visual story-telling is about being subtle--not repeatedly banging people on the head with monologues like we are a bunch of idiots who can't figure it out for ourselves.

In the mood for an argument today, eh? This post is the definition of flame bait.

By the way, there's a mega thread.

TDK doesn't deserve a 'mega thread'.

Your telling me I'm paying for extra which were actually shown on TV?

WTF!

The OP is right though, the extras are pretty bad, I was looking for "The Making of TDk" which would have been more interesting than the enitre extras so far....

If they ever release The Dark Knight with the "making" in the future blu ray, it'll surely deserves to be pirated!

Honestly, I do not ever watch the extras so I could care less. If people like stupid extras, so what. I want the movie to look and sound good. If that isn't there, than I don't want this disc. Extras are overrated to begin with.

Wow. You must have seen a different version of the film in Sri Lanka. That's the only explanation.

Oh, I get it. Disagreeing with the majority gives you a false sense of superiority. Have fun with that.

First of all, TDK has great acting. GREAT acting. If you do not know what that means, then you should just go away to a cave. 2nd, the Dark Knight has amazing visual effects. Very good at all levels. 3rd, the Dark Knight has great writing. The "deep statements" you mentioned are not what makes it special. It's the fact that the acts of the screenplay were designed well so that it followed the rules of screenwriting, had acts that had their own climaxes and it also had two plot points which is the way to do it in films. Next, each character had his/her own purpose in the film. This is a very important thing as not many films today have this.

As for the special, this film is targeted to a very large audience. However, a large portion of that crowd is also fans of the comic book who LOVE these things. I have never read a batman comic book, but I have friends that do and they love such extras.

So just because a certain movie does not appeal to you, don't go and bash things that you obviously don't understand.

Diamondfoxxx is just trying to get under people's skin, that's all. If someone really thought TDK was only "average," they wouldn't be starting threads like this since it would be a waste of their time. I know if I saw a film that I thought was mediocre, I wouldn't be bothered with stuff like this.

So obviously diamondfoxxx just doesn't get it. I mean, comparing TDK to the Fantastic Four is ridiculous, and just proves how single-minded some people really are in this world. The entire "Batman" mythos revolves around being psychological, and you'd know that if you read some of the comics.

What he said.

I thought the film was incredibly over-rated, but I'll be picking up a copy anyway.

I haven't seen the movie yet..... almost paid $15 to watch it "On-Demand" in a Hotel the other night, but thought better of it.... and will probably blind-buy it for $20 or so on Blu-ray.

EDIT.... I'll actually Netflix it if the wait isn't too long
