"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" director Michael Bay says that the first trailer will hit either on the Superbowl or in early February.

Here's the latest update from his official blog: "Back from Egypt and Jordan - we had a wonderful shoot over there... Our Trailer for Transformer you have been asking about - First there will be a teaser poster soon after the new year, and the teaser trailer will be out either in the theaters early Feb. or on the Superbowl. Cannot decide yet. I’m going to release some set stills on this site in a few weeks."

Meanwhile producer Don Murphy says on his site (via Slashfilm) that due to an already large awareness of the project, they are planning to hold off on the big marketing push until near the end - "We’re kind of trying to follow the PIRATES OF CARIBBEAN model, that is, no publicity for as long as possible, since the sequel will have enormous attention no matter what we do."

Whats wrong with the original? That's one of the reasons I stopped buying movies. Just buy the hardware and rent the movies.

lol - you think He isn't Smart? OBVIOUSLY it would get the Most exposure being one of the ads during the Super Bowl, but if it's not ready, it's not ready. NO Need to Rush out a 2nd rate Trailer Just to get it out, Super Bowl or not. EVERYONE knows a sequel is coming out anyway, so it's not like it'll give the movie any Extra boost in Revenue, right?

It'll make $300-400 million in the States alone I predict anyway. (I AM Nostradamus...) Lol.

I wish more studios would do this. I'm tired of waiting 6 months to a year for a movie to be released. Keep me in the dark (Knight) sometimes!

90 second Super Bowl teaser trailer = gold.

Costly, but millions will be watching. Advertise it as exclusive, first time and you'll have people waiting to watch it.
