Quickie SW Film Score Question! - Blu-ray Forum

The name of the theme by John Williams that plays on the menu for the Star Wars Episode I DVD - does anyone know its name? Thanks in advance.

Amazingly enough, someone does.

John Williams wrote an orchestra suite from the Phantom Menace. As luck would have it, I have conducted that suite and the music in question does make up its 1st movement. The Title of that 1st movement is "The Flag Parade" but whether or not it's the "official" title, I can't tell.

As the Episode I menu is a random selection of one of three environments -- each with its own musical backdrop -- how are we to know what you're talking about?

Beyond the point, Ern - Baton seemed to somehow know, and was right on the money once I previewed the track online.

I just got lucky I guess. I put the disk in and heard the music, recognized it and posted. I had no clue that I would get different music if I put the disk in again!
