Default WinDVD BD Playback of protected contents

Hi
I have purchased a Sony XL202 with WinDVD-BD and am playing it through a Sony Bravia KLD S40A12U HD ready LCD TV using the HDMI cable. Everything works fine until I try to play commercial Blu-ray DVDs. WinDVD displays the error 'WinDVD-BD cannot start playback of protected contents with current display settings. Please change a display setting of the system'

The Sony help desk are out of ideas. They assure me that the TV is compliant. I have tried all screen resolutions on the planet, reloaded drivers....

Has anyone else seen this error and could advise me of any settings that may resolve it. I need help!

Many thanks
