I just tried playing the Monsters vs Aliens 3D Blu and my PS3 cant pick it up. I have the original 60GB PS3 with the PS2 playback. Anyone else having this similar problem?

Have you reset the video settings(automatic, not manual)?
Do you own a 3D receiver? if not it may not work.


My receiver doesn't work with 3D, so I might sell it and buy a better quality 3D one with bitstream audio too(mine can only handle PCM). For now, I'll use the TOSlink for 3D movie audio...

Its on Automatic and I got it hooked to my 3D Samsung LED TV. Its the Playstation 3 that wont pick it up, 3D works but the PS3 wont read the disc. It wont even pop up on the XMB....Okay nvm, thnks for the help. It works fine

Hey ... I have the same exact set up as you... Same tv, ps3 and bose 321.... ps3 connected to tv via a monster cable hdmi 1000hd cable... I tried putting in monsters vs aliens 3d in after updating ps3 and it won't read the disk... Checked all setting, restarted the tv and ps3 and still nothing... How did you get yours to work? Thanks so much for your help.

i got the same issue mine doesn't read the disc also.

Ahem, me being the dumb@** I am, I was messing with the TV and now I dnt have the 3D function. I keep turning it on, and when I switch to Auto it shuts off again, so the TV wont pick up the 3D. I know its best if you use 1.4 HDMI cables. When you switch to Automatic, your PS3 should pickup the 3D and ask how many inches is it. Try connecting your TV and PS3 directly with just your cables and no receiver, maybe you might get it. Im going to keep trying for now til I get it again. I never got to try the Monsters vs Aliens 3D Bluray.

tthe ps3 does pick up the 3d resolutions but it still doesn't work... Contacted monster cable and they said the 1000hd cable works with bluray 3d... So idk what's going on... Even if I force the tv into 3d, the movie doesn't show up....

Im going to try directly with just the PS3 and TV and hopefully that works. Im going to buy a new pair a 1.4 HDMI cables too. If that dnt work maybe its my Bluray which I doubt since I never used it or the Samsung isnt compatiable yet. Ill probably give them a cll first.

i have all my devices connected directly to the tv and then use the fiber optic out to the bose.... as of now aliens vs monsters 3d doesn't work... =(
and i know the disk works because i have the samsung 3d bluray player....

I just got off the phone with a Samsung representative and he told me" The HDMI cables version 1.4 have to be connected to the TV directly to the PS3. If its a 1.3 HDMI it wont pick up the 3D signal." Im going to buy some 1.4 cables and try it out and if it dont work it has to be the TV. Please let me know if you have some progress.

The cable I use is 1.4 rated.... the movies still not showing up in the xmb....

i have a launch ps3 also.. but no 3d tv yet.. will be watching this thread with interest though as i should be getting a 3d tv in a couple of weeks..

Ha Ha,... The Toslink should be perfect since the PS3 only does lossy with 3D.

This FW makes me want to convince my projector it's really capable of this 3D stuff.

i also am having an issue but it make no sense seeing that the ps3 is 1.3. if i hook it up to my panny 3d tv it works but when i go through my 1.3 reciever it doesnt. but yet games are fine running through my 1.3 reciever. i can only assume that games are not done in 1080p and the movies are so mt question is if i were to take off the 1080p on the pse so it only maxes out at 1080i will i be able to c my 3d movies then?
