Default Americans are thin and brits are fat!!

was just wondering what you guys think of the thicker cases we have in europe. At first i thought i prefered the thinner ones you have in america as i own some of them too but not so sure now.I know i would prefer to have one or the other but have no choice to have them mixed for various reasons.

Back in the day of the war we had some of the fat cases now its mostly the thins ones we get they do take up less place on the shelf for sure. Now every now and then we get a different color case beside blue.

I like the US ones. It's all about shelf space for me. I can fit more blu-rays on a shelf than DVDs, and I like that. It's simply more practical. Likewise, when it comes to box sets, the thinner the better. This is also why I hate "collectible" packaging.

I like the thin cases, for the obvious shelf space reason.

I have a mix of thick and thin. I don't mind which it is honestly.

I like the thin cases since they take up less shelf space. But they're not as sturdy as the thicker ones.

Americans are defanately not thin, In fact I think we are actually the fatest country on earth.

on topic I don't really know why anyone would like the fatter cases. I love the thin ones but I don't think they should get thinner. that would be anorexia. you would be able to read would movie it is.

Great thread title!

I prefer thinner cases. The only reason DVD cases were thicker in the first place was to make them look more like VHS than CDs in the eyes of the public.

Great title. This is why the search engine works poorly, by the way.

Thinner cases, to answer the question.

Prefer Thin cases... Considering when I have gotten items shipped in the wider cases. They have came out of the holder and have gotten scratched.

Once they are on my shelf... I prefer the thicker ones. That way I can read the titles better.

I WANT COLORED cases. Thick or thin is OK as long as Height X Width is uniform.

I prefer the thinner cases but don't lose any sleep over the imports being slightly wider. Does seem like a waste of space though.

I prefer the thin cases. I've only ever had 1 fat case (Almost Famous Import) and I had to perform surgery on the insert to make it fit into a thinner case when I swapped it out.

I dont mind varying width's, as long as the height is the same.

Thinner cases (for the space reason). The thick Europe cases are screaming out for collectable booklets to be put inside though, something you couldn't do with the American ones

I've got both and it doesn't worry me. Boxsets should come in the thin cases though. I've been extra careful with my Torchwood set, but it's already getting a little worn on the edges where it slides on and off the bookshelf. I'd much prefer a cardboard wrap around to package them, that you could then store that somewhere else leaving the little slim line case to put on the shelfs. There again I'm someone that imported Region 4 warner DVDs back in the day as Australia were the first country to scrap those annoying cardboard snapper cases!

ANAL!
