Default Hellboy 2 Errors

It doesn't do it on any other disc, but Hellboy 2 Doesn't play past track 12 on my PS3. It locks up no matter where I put it after that... and if I back out to the menu it doesn't work at all unless I play from the beginning. Anyone else have any similar problems?

Did you check the disc for dust or hair? Maybe there is something on the disc surface that is causing your copy to freeze up.

I plan on watching it tonight on my PS3. If I get the same glitch I will let you know. If I do not post about this then you can presume that my copy played fine on the PS3.

Is this movie worth seeing or should I just pass on this one? Saw the first one and thought it was ok and im still one the edge about seeing this one.

I just watched this on my Sammy and had no problems. The DTS-HD MA with 7.1 sounded pretty darn good.

It still has the same vibe as the first one but this one is more thoughtful than part one. The dialogue here is pretty amazing, in my opinion... especially from the antagonists.

Good, I thought the first one was pretty good and will have #2 tomorrow from Amazon.

Get real. This one was decent, but it was nowhere near the caliber of the first one. The first one was so much truer to the comics. Del Toro had to push this movie hard to get this made because Universal had their concerns about it. I am a big Helllboy fan, but the first one was better.

I just watched it and...eh. When I first saw it I thought it was good but now it's just decent. Some bad lines/crappy acting bring it down.

Okay, first: relax. No one's arguing with you. No use being testy.

Second: I haven't encountered the comics so I really couldn't do the cliche oh-the-written-material-was-so-much-better arguement. I had to take the movie as it was.

And I'm sticking to my *opinion*.

Is that true for all 3 of your machines? One thing I did notice is that it took about a minute and a half to load, but after that it worked just fine.

The loading delay was the initial BD-LIVE connection. It should load and begin to play much quicker on your next try. I watched HB2 on my PS3 2nite and it played all the way thru just fine. The op probably had a finger print, dust particle or a "pube" on his disc which caused the error.

I enjoyed the film.

However, it had quite a few schlockfest moments, the worst of which was that annoying Barry Manilow song (thank goodness it wasn't Copacabana!). I consider myself a fan of special effects. This day and age computer generated effects have become the standard. That being said, one has to admit that there is such a thing as GCI overkill. For me, the CGI in HB2 (and similarly in Indiana Jones Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) was so over used that it takes over the movie, thus diminishing its impact. But that is a subject for another thread.

HB2 is an enjoyable movie. I was most impressed by the PQ and AQ. But as the saying goes: you can polish a turd, but you can't make it shine. No, I am not saying HB2 is a turd. I am simply stating that the best PQ and AQ does not make for the best movie.

PS - Watching devil-red Ron Perlman smoking a Cuban was a real turn on to me. I actually saw Perlman years ago in the original cast of Beauty And The Beast on Broadway in New York (he played The Beast, of course). Perlman is super talented. I also adored the man in Alien Resurrection. Ron Perlman is so manly that he actually kissed another guy in that movie--and he came off smelling like the ultimate jock. I hope to see Mr. Perlman in many more films in the not-to-distant future. Give him a British accent and he could become the next James Bond (just kidding).

All of you need to make sure you have the latest firmware update from sony. If you don't keep your ps3 updated with the latest firmware, your machine eventually will stop playing the latest blu-rays. Today's blu-rays are ever increasing in the complexity of both audio and video.

I hope people aren't buying their ps3s with the idea they never need to update the software. I'll bet there are some ps3 owners that don't even know their ps3 need to be updated periodically. It seems you have to do this a few times a year at the least. The latest blu-rays are changing so fast in design.

I have wireless LAN. Can you please tell me how to update my PS 3 homeware? I thought it did it automatically. (I have a PS 3 Blueteeth remote.)

I am having the same issue with this movie on my Panasonic dmpbd30. Gets to the scene with the golden army towards the end and locked up. Could not do anything, cant stop it, forward backward, could not even eject it. Turned it off and it took 10 minutes for my player to turn off!
