Borderlands 2 (99%) confirmed here !!! :
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...nfirmed-source ![]() other sources : http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/03/borderlands-2/ http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/a...0-3458572.aspx http://www.psu.com/Borderlands-2-to-...a012431-p0.php Now 100% confirmed!!! http://www.gearboxsoftware.com/games/borderlands2/ And as the topic creator for the first Borderlands I wanted to reserve the place for the second game I'll edit as info goes on My wish for the game is a "loot system", when I played online with Roland, I used long range guns and the loot was already taken. Maybe some kind of need/greed like in MMORPGs or allot Snipers to Mordecai, SMG to Roland ... other info from PSU.com (taken from last issue of GameInformer) : http://www.psu.com/Borderlands-2-inf...a012483-p0.php U.S. publication Game Informer’s got hold of the first concrete details on Borderlands 2. As with the original game, Borderlands 2 will feature four-player co-op, though the cast itself will be entirely new. Among the fresh faces this time around include a duel-weapon wielding brute named Gunzerker. Players will be able to bump up their vehicle and weapon statistics via in-game currency system, known as Eridium, with Borderland 1’s three-branch skill trees making a return. Also on the table are dynamic story missions, which the developers have implemented in order to improve storytelling. According to GI, Borderland 2’s narrative is shaped around how you tackle a certain objective. NPCs have also benefited from some tweaking, and as such will now converse with your character in a more interactive manner. Enemy AI has been spruced up, too. Meanwhile, all firearms from the first game have been binned, with gamers now able to gain access to a whole new bunch of guns. One thing that is on its way back is the robot Claptrap, however. Borderlands 2 is due out in 2012. New info (from Gameranx.com) : - Each manufacturer will have their own visual styling/theme. The purpose of this is to be able to easily identify a weapon's manufacturer and quality by simple looking at it. No manufacturers will have the same looking gun - NPC's will be fully animated and move around their locations, interacting with objects within their locations - Gearbox wants to make 4 seating standard on each vehicle - Class mods and Artifacts will be returning - BL2's skill tree will maintain the 3 Branch system and have more defined abilities rather than simple stat boosts. It is unknown how many skills will occupy each branch. - 2 Gunzerker Skills were mentioned. One, increases the fire rate of any weapon the longer the trigger is held down. A second, while Dual-wielding, increases accuracy with same class weapons, or doubles damage for different class weapons. Last edited by TheTenth; 08-10-2011 at 12:01 PM. |

Another report.
![]() http://www.digitalspy.com/gaming/new...d-in-2012.html 'Borderlands 2' to be released in 2012? Tuesday, August 2 2011, 7:29am EDT By Matthew Reynolds, © 2K Games Borderlands 2 is in development by Gearbox Studios, according to a report. The sequel will be formally announced by publisher 2K Games "soon", a source told Eurogamer. While few other details were provided, Borderlands 2 will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC for a 2012 release. The first mention of a possible Borderlands sequel came when 2K Games said it could become a "long-standing franchise". Borderlands, released in late 2009, was an open-world first-person shooter set in a Mad Max-style universe. It sold two million units within its launch period and was given four downloadable content packs. Gearbox Studios recently completed the development of Duke Nukem Forever and is confirmed to be working on Aliens: Colonial Marines for next year |

I look forward to Borderlands 2, but I do wonder if it will still take place on Pandora.
There were so many little things the first game got right that I am very much looking forward to the sequel. The only area where I felt needed significant improvement was the repetitive fetch quests in the DLC and fast travel. The main game was great though. |

I couldn't believe how taken i was by the game (it's style and humor) and it's DLCs. I'd buy a sequel right away if there is some sort of carry over progress from the first. I put in a LOT of time (and fun
![]() I personally don't think it would take place on Pandora. They mentioned this other planet in the game and i think even Marcus mentioned it too at some point (i think at the end of Robot Revolution), hinting at another adventure on that specific planet. I can't remember exactly though... |

There are some slight similarities like open world travel and leveling up, but that is pretty much where the similarities end.
Fallout is an RPG at heart in which dialogue is often just as important (maybe even more so) as combat. Borderlands is an FPS with some RPG like features. Looting is a big part of both games. I give Borderlands credit for making me fall in love with Fallout 3. I didn't play Fallout 3 until well over a year after it came out and Borderlands convinced me to give more RPG games a try and I am glad it did. |

I cant wait for this game, but the part of giving it a better story made me a little nervous.
Killzone 3 promised a better more engaging story and I can think of fewer things that define an epic fail more than that. I felt the simple story of Borderlands was part of what made it enjoyable, I just hope they dont try to so too much. |

I played the last game to death, offline and on. It was great to see a new IP like this one, do so well. Now that it's getting a sequel, I can only hope that things can get better from here.

Going by that picture, looks like they'll finally implement dual wielding. The only thing i feel unsure about is the four NEW characters. Of course they'll be new classes (and they haven't said yet whether the total will then be 8 characters in the game
